How Do I Get Started?
- Go to the contact page and enter your contact information. Someone will call and set up an appointment. Once the appointment is scheduled with a R&W rep. we will help determine what is best for you:
- Tear out: Removal of existing blacktop and adding stone as needed to your existing base only then pave with 2.5 inches of top.
- Resurface: Cover existing asphalt with 1.5 inches of top.
- Box out: Remove blacktop and digging down 8-10 inches and installing 6-8 inches of stone throughout. Pave with 2.5 inches of top.
- Tear out: Removal of existing blacktop and adding stone as needed to your existing base only then pave with 2.5 inches of top.
- Once R&W adds you to the schedule for a new driveway, you can expect a confirmation phone call 3-5 days prior to your appointment. Please note that weather plays a major factor in scheduling.
- On the scheduled date, the dig crew will show up and dig, stone, or remove old asphalt, depending on what you've decided in the contract.
- After the stone is set, we will determine how long the driveway needs to settle before the blacktop is applied. Many factors, such as the type of stone laid, how much rain has fallen, and how much stone was set, will determine this. However, most will need to settle 2-3 weeks. You may also drive/park on the stone.
- On the day of paving the stone will be re-graded. Additional stone will be added where necessary. The entire area will be rolled then paved.
- R&W requests the homeowner or representative be there on the day of paving.
- Upon completion you will receive a how-to guide for the care of your new driveway. Payment is expected at the time of completion.
